Sounds just like my tour. Some of the hotels were ghetto, by that I mean dirty, stinky, scary. At least half of the meals were inedible. A big portion of the tour if done from a bus window, drive by quick. The hotels are an hour to two outside of the city. The only thing as advertised was the beauty of the country b then EF had nothing to do with that. What I'd like to know is how they have an Arating with the BBB when they refuse to make things... My son was scheduled to travel for one week in June 2017 and we paid $95 deposit and $155 for insurance. I called the company to cancel his trip due to safety concerns, and I was told the full amount paid was not refundable. I can see losing the deposit but losing the insurance amount as well?! No details provided other than it is not refundable. I'm very disappointed and irritated. I wish I saw this site first before even enrolling my son... Read more

My advice is NOT to use this tour company. We had roughly 50 students and adults on this trip. Pros: 1) saw a lot of France Cons: 1) price is way too high for the quality of the hotels/food 2) tour guide was inappropriate - took an adult chaperone in front of a *** bar for selfies which held our group up (the guide was constantly yelling that we didn't have time for photos - so kind of ironic) 3) tour guide was not knowledgeable of all... I went on English lit tour in 2012. The hotels were terrible as was most food. We had no say in anything. No chance to shop. One hotel staffer was heard saying they hated Americans and it was obvious with dirty rooms and broken appliances. One night we threw away sausage and peas and ordered pizza. Tour guide abandoned us early. Hotel staff verified all food choices were selected by EF. Buses drove by some sights and when questioned, I was... Read more

Parents please be aware this is not a safe trip. As a school nurse I took students on many trips. This one was unacceptable. My husband and I went on the school trip with our daughter to the UK. We missed the first 2 days of our trip due to a cancelled flight and we were stuck in Chicago. EF paid for a play in London to help compensate for the many issues we had. Some of the kids did not want to go. An adult was going to stay behind with them... Read more

Had booked to go on trip with my daughter and granddaughter. VERY unexpected my daughter who was told she could not have any more children became pregnant at 38. We are all very excited! She is high risk and we can't make the trip since the baby would only be a few months old. We were more than 400 days BEFORE the trip and my cost to cancel is $550.00. On the website one place it has one amount them on another place a different amount. PLUS... Read more

This company has demonstrated very poor customer service at every turn... It's amazing that they claim to be experts in travel for youth - they provide absolutely no customer information or service, and I have been disappointed at every turn. Seven months after registering, they have provided zero information or details - no info on flights, hotels, trip arrangements or security. And I am supposed to trust them with my child? I have written to... Read more

My daughter wanted to go on the class trip to Europe, so she sold candy and chips after school and walked dogs and watered plants. She saved and sent them $1425 dollars. After the Paris attacks the tour leader decide she didn't want to go and cancelled the trip. Now EF tours wants is charging $600 even thought the cancelation had nothing to do with her. They offered to transfer her to a different trip, but she didn't like the alternative and... Read more

Well I will say first that the $155 is the insurance and second that it's made very clear that the insurance and deposit if $95 per account are non refundable. That totals $500 for two accounts. It might suck but if you read the fine print they don't refund due to terrorism. I've seen this same disclaimer on about any type of insurance most of my life. 80% of this companies bad reviews seemed to be linked to cancellation. I am disturbed about... Read more

My daughter and I had planned to go to Spain and Italy with the school this summer. Due to financial difficulty we were unable to finish paying for the trip. Out of the 2500 that we paid we only got 900 back. They stated multiple fees that they had to take the money from. The trip wasn't planned until the end of June. We cancelled yesterday. This is ridiculous taking someone's hard earned money. I will NEVER travel with EF tours in the... Read more
